Troubleshooting

Cannot view cameras on my phone

Remote viewing usually breaks after an internet change — a new router, a new provider or a reset. The recorder loses its connection settings while continuing to record perfectly. Check whether the recorder shows as online in its network settings before assuming the app or the cameras are at fault.

Recording is unaffected

The first thing to know is that footage is still being stored locally. Remote viewing and recording are separate, so nothing is being lost while this is broken.

A new router is the usual cause

A changed router means changed network settings. The recorder needs reconfiguring for the new network, which is a short visit or often a remote fix.

Check on mobile data

If it works on the shop WiFi but not on mobile data, the problem is the recorder's external connection rather than the app. That distinction saves a lot of guessing.

Why can I not see my CCTV on my mobile?

Do I need to be at the shop to fix it?

Often not. If the recorder is reachable we can reconfigure it remotely. If the internet connection itself changed, someone usually needs to be on site.

Will I have lost the footage from while it was broken?

No. Local recording continues regardless of whether remote viewing works, so the footage is on the drive waiting for you.

Need this doing?

Security camera repair covers cameras showing no image, recorders that stopped recording, footage you cannot retrieve, and systems that lost remote viewing. Most faults are power, cable or configuration rather than a failed camera. Diagnosis is free, and we quote a fixed price before doing any work.
