Repair & recovery
Diagnosis first. Everything else follows.
The repair trade has two kinds of shop: the one that swaps parts until something works, and the one that finds the fault. The difference is a microscope, a schematic and the habit of quoting before working. Here is our bench process, in the order your machine goes through it.

Intake, symptoms and the job card
We write down what happened — the surge, the spill, the thud — because the story points at the fault. You get a job card with the machine's condition, your data policy, and the diagnosis fee. No work happens beyond diagnosis without your yes.

Power rails before anything else
Most 'dead' machines are a power problem: adapter, jack, fuse or a rail held down by one shorted component. Fifteen minutes with a multimeter and a bench supply sorts the truly dead from the merely mute.

The board under the microscope
Corrosion from a spill, a bulged capacitor, a burnt driver IC — visible at magnification, invisible to a parts-swapper. This is where chip-level differs: we look for the failed component, not for which module to bill you.

The quote, before the work
You get the fault in plain words, the price of fixing it, and — when the machine's value does not justify the repair — a plain recommendation not to. The quote is the ceiling: found-more-problems calls happen before more work, not on the invoice.

Repair, then burn-in
The fix, then hours under load: full-screen video, battery cycles, thermals watched. A repair that survives an afternoon of punishment on the bench is one we are content to warranty; a ten-minute test proves only that the bench has power.
Data recovery: stop pressing the power button
If a drive is clicking, grinding, or the machine holds the only copy of something that matters, every extra power-on is a spin of a damaged platter over the data you want back. Switch it off, bring it in, and say the words “the data matters more than the machine” — that sentence changes the entire order of work.
Deleted files & formats
Recoverable more often than people fear, if the space has not been overwritten. Stop using the drive; success falls with every hour of use.
Failing drives
Imaged sector by sector onto a healthy drive first; recovery runs on the copy, never the patient. The original is handed back, not gambled with.
The honest limit
Physically opened platters need a clean-room lab. We say so straight away, and help you weigh the lab's real cost against what the data is worth.
Repair questions
- Another shop said the board is dead. Is it?
- Often not. Most shops diagnose by swapping parts; when no part fixes it, the verdict is “dead board”. Chip-level repair works at the component below that — a failed power IC or a shorted capacitor costs a few hundred rupees to replace once someone finds it. We diagnose first and tell you honestly when it truly is beyond saving.
- Is my data safe during a repair?
- Your drive stays in the machine unless the repair requires removing it, and nothing on it is opened, copied or 'checked'. If a repair carries any risk to the drive, we say so before starting and back it up first with your permission. That policy is written on the job card you sign.
- How long does a repair take?
- Screens, keyboards and batteries: usually same-day when the part is in stock. Board-level faults: two to four working days including burn-in, because a board that ran for ten minutes on the bench has not proved anything yet. Data recovery has no honest fixed answer — it takes what the drive allows.
- What if it cannot be fixed?
- You pay the diagnosis fee, get the machine back assembled, and get told what failed in plain words. If a working machine makes more sense than the repair, we say so and put the diagnosis fee against the replacement if you buy it from us.
