A dispute about where a camera points
Start by speaking to them. Most cases are careless aiming rather than intent, and a small adjustment resolves it. If that fails, a written request noting which part of your property is covered is the reasonable next step before involving anyone else.
Assume carelessness first
Cameras get aimed roughly at install and never checked. A neighbour is usually unaware their camera drifted or that it covers your gate at all.
Be specific
Saying which camera and what it covers gets a result. A general complaint invites a defensive answer and gets nowhere.
Adjustment is cheap
Re-aiming takes minutes. We do it regularly when asked, including for people who did not buy the system from us.
What can I do about a neighbour's camera pointing at my house?
Can I ask an installer to re-aim a camera?
Yes, and it is a short visit. If the system was installed by someone else, we can still re-aim it — we do not need to have supplied it.
Is it acceptable for a camera to see part of the street?
Incidental capture of the street while covering your own entrance is normal. Deliberately monitoring beyond your frontage is a different matter and is where disputes start.
