Troubleshooting

Cannot find footage from a specific time

Use the recorder's playback calendar: pick the date, pick the channel, then drag the timeline to the hour. If nothing appears for that period, either recording was off, the drive has already overwritten it, or the recorder's clock is wrong and you are looking in the wrong place.

Check the clock first

If the recorder's time is out, the footage exists under a different timestamp. This catches people out constantly, particularly after a power cut.

Check retention

Work out how far back the drive actually holds. If the incident is older than that, the footage is gone and no amount of searching will find it.

Search by event

Where door entries or alarms are wired in, searching by event beats scrubbing a timeline. That integration is one of the most useful things a combined system offers.

How do I find CCTV footage from a particular time?

Can you retrieve footage for me?

Yes, and it is routine work. Give us the date and approximate time and we will find it and export it in a form you can hand on.

Why is there a gap in my recordings?

Common causes are a power cut with no backup, a drive error, or a recording schedule that excluded that period. The event log usually shows which.

Need this doing?

Security camera repair covers cameras showing no image, recorders that stopped recording, footage you cannot retrieve, and systems that lost remote viewing. Most faults are power, cable or configuration rather than a failed camera. Diagnosis is free, and we quote a fixed price before doing any work.
