Yes, with dedicated infra-red and a fast shutter, which is exactly why they are a separate camera. Headlight glare is the main challenge and it is handled by positioning.
Do cameras help with drive-offs?
They give you the plate, which is what any follow-up needs. Reliable plate capture at the exit is worth more here than extra cameras on the shop.
