CCTV for shops and general stores
A shop needs four positions covered: the till, the entrance at face height, the stock room door and the delivery bay. That is four cameras, not sixteen. Size storage to how long it takes you to notice a stock discrepancy — usually a month rather than a fortnight.
The till pays for the system
A camera over the counter facing the customer captures the transaction, the hands and the money. It also changes behaviour at the till, which is where most shops recover the cost.
Entrance at face height
A ceiling camera looking down records the top of a head. At two metres, angled slightly down, it records a face. That one decision decides whether footage is usable.
Deliveries are the forgotten position
Stock arrives uncounted at the delivery door and losses there are hardest to trace. It is the camera most shops skip and most later wish they had.

Will CCTV stop shoplifting?
It reduces it and gives you evidence, but it does not replace stock control. Cameras plus a customer-facing display at the till is the cheapest effective combination.
