CCTV for offices
An office needs the entrance, the reception, the server or records room and the rear access covered. Open-plan desk areas usually are not. Access control on internal doors is generally more useful than additional cameras, and both go in on one visit.
Entrances over interiors
Knowing who entered the building matters more than watching people work. Entrance coverage plus door access logs answers almost every question that comes up.
Server and records rooms
The rooms holding equipment and documents deserve a camera on the door and controlled access. That combination is far stronger than either alone.
Staff areas
Cameras over desks damage trust for little gain. If you do cover working areas, tell staff clearly — it is the right thing and it avoids disputes.

We advise against it in most offices. The security benefit is small and the effect on staff is real. Entrances and secure rooms give you what you actually need.
Is access control better than more cameras?
For internal doors, usually yes. A card or fingerprint log tells you who and when, which is normally the question, at lower cost than a camera per door.
