CCTV for hotels and guest houses

A hotel needs the entrance, reception, corridors, car park and service entrances covered. Guest rooms never are. Corridor coverage at each floor's lift or stair landing gives the most useful record of movement for the fewest cameras.

Landings, not whole corridors

A camera at each landing captures everyone moving between floors. Covering the full length of every corridor costs several times as much and adds little.

Car park and service door

Vehicle damage claims and after-hours access are the two things hotels most often need footage for, and both happen outside the front door.

Never in rooms

Guest rooms and bathrooms are absolutely off limits. Any installer suggesting otherwise should not be in your building.

What CCTV does a hotel need?

Do guests need to be told about cameras?

Signage at the entrance and in public areas is good practice and expected. It also reassures far more guests than it troubles.

How long should a hotel keep footage?

Thirty days is a reasonable baseline, because damage and billing disputes often surface after checkout rather than during the stay.

Need this doing?

Business CCTV covers the till, the stock room, the entrance and the delivery door — the four points where losses actually happen. Systems are sized to your retention needs and can be linked to access control and point of sale. Expect PKR 70,000 upwards depending on premises size.
