CCTV for cold storage facilities

A cold store needs the loading door, the chamber entrances and the plant room covered, with cameras rated for the temperature they sit in. Temperature alarms are usually fitted at the same time, because a failed chiller costs far more than a theft.

Cameras must be rated for the cold

Standard cameras fail or fog inside a chamber. Correctly rated units, or cameras mounted outside looking through a viewing panel, are the two workable answers.

Condensation on the door

The biggest optical problem is condensation as warm air meets cold. Positioning matters more than specification for the door camera.

Temperature alarms alongside

A chiller failure overnight destroys stock. An alarm that calls your phone is worth more than any camera in this building, and we fit both together.

What CCTV does a cold store need?

Will a normal camera work in a chiller?

Not for long. It will fog, then fail. We either specify a rated camera or mount outside the chamber looking in, depending on what you need to see.

Can I get an alert if the temperature rises?

Yes, and for a cold store it is the most important thing we can fit. Sensors tied to a phone alert cost little against the stock they protect.

Need this doing?

Business CCTV covers the till, the stock room, the entrance and the delivery door — the four points where losses actually happen. Systems are sized to your retention needs and can be linked to access control and point of sale. Expect PKR 70,000 upwards depending on premises size.
